Silicon Valley estate planning and elder care law firm Litherland, Kennedy & Associates attended one of the nation’s leading legal education conferences in Minneapolis, MI from May 2 to May 5. The American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys hosted their 31st annual Spring Summit which included top estate planning law firms from around the country.
The American Academy is committed to helping its Member attorneys innovate the way they approach their law practice. The conference focused on the latest technology best practices and cybersecurity, new avenues of business to make their firms invaluable to clients, current legal education, and vital practice management skills. “Last year during our 30th Anniversary, we embraced the success of our founding core philosophies. This year, we are looking to build on that and help launch our Member firms into the future of estate planning and hope to help them tailor what that looks like based on their client’s needs and company culture,” said Robert Armstrong, President and Co-Founder of the American Academy.
Attorney Justin M. Kennedy received training on the newest developments in estate planning and elder law during the sessions: Corporate Transparency Act, Legal Ethics: Cybersecurity, and Funeral Trusts and Legacy Safeguard. Understanding the ever-expanding importance of a digital presence for success, Justin also attended sessions on available technology updates and Building Brand Trust in the Digital Age.
Reflecting on the summit, Attorney Justin M. Kennedy commented, “The American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys creates a unique, special space for attorneys and our teams at their Summits. Often legal education has an individual approach – online seminars completed behind our desk. The Summits offer us a community of other firms coming together to share our insights. I always leave with new and exciting ideas to implement at our firm and this constant innovation allows us to provide the best for our clients. It’s also a fantastic chance to reconnect with old Academy friends and make new ones.”
The American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys began in 1993 with a mission to help its Members transform their law practice. The Academy’s focus is to provide Members with the support they need to come up with legal solutions while making the estate planning process a relaxed, enjoyable, and whollistic experience for their clients.
