November is National Family Caregivers Month. It is a time to recognize and honor family caregivers across the country.
A special “thank you’ to all you Caregivers. It is something not said often enough, and the words feel insufficient for all that you do to care for someone and for all that you have given up to allow you to be a Caregiver. A “thank you’ feels inadequate to express gratitude for all you do, all the time you take to do it, and for all the exhaustion you feel at times.
But let it be known that you are appreciated!
It may not feel like it at times, but you truly are.
It may not feel admirable during some of the tasks, but it is.
It may not seem like a grateful type of job, but it is for all your sacrifice and care.
Your task as a Caregiver requires special traits such as patience, love, humbleness and gentleness (just to name a few). Sometimes you will need a break, a reprieve, from caregiving to rejuvenate these traits to be the best Caregiver you can be.
Please take care of yourself so that you can take care of your loved one.
If you need ideas on how to take care of yourself or how to plan for a break, give me a call at (408) 356-9200 or (831) 476-2400 to discuss your specific situation and together we will can come up with a plan.
